Plants and trees do pick the oddest places to grow and flourish, just recently I have started taking photo's of that kind too. The old Federal building looks sad, I wonder what will replace it. Interesting photo's all round.
Nice urban shots... looks like they are demolishing this building piece by piece... hope that means some of it is getting recycled. The rogue tree looks a little lonely here. :-)
These shots stirred something in me. And I love it that you ended with the monochrome version. The whole entry tells a very complete story that one might see in so many cities... but YOURS had the tree!

I find it hard to believe the feds would neglect anything;^)
Is the tree growing from the ground? or on the building?
It was growing from the building!
so sad to see it finally coming down.
Mother Nature has a sense of humor in picking spots to grow a tree. Destruction is right! Great shots ... color, texture. Well done.
Oops, your first shot took me back to the bombed out buildings during WW11. Luckily these had no people in them when they were being wrecked.
Good photography and I really like that rogue tree.
I do hate to seen anything neglected like this, but I do love that rogue tree! Hooray for it!! Really interesting post for the day! Enjoy your week!

I love that tree that so bravely and happily grew there. Nature is an amazing thing, isn't it? It's too bad that the tree will also disappear.
I hope they save the tree and plant it nearby.

Even amidst ruin, there is hope.
Wonderful shots - so symbolic. Beauty amidst the decay.
Hi there - nice picture - I like the contrast in the shot.

You got some wonderful shots of the building being demolished. I like the monochrome version as well. I hope the trees survive.
