In honour of the opening of the shipping season,
another mural from Welland featuring tugboat Hector
pulling barges and ships through the canal in the 1920s
painted by Stefan Bell, an Austrian-Canadian artist who has produced
many commercial and residential projects in sizes ranging from murals to greeting cards.

I like that the artist used ships from the past.
Very nice representation of the ships...I loved the reflection in that one on the far right!
I thought they looked quite old in style- lovely muted colours and represntation.
Tugboats have personalities, and these are no exception. Nice mural.
[Re my face cream mural: I've never seen the real thing (and can't find it online), so I can't say how large the jar would be. But you are revealing your taste for the expensive branded creams, while I mostly use the basic Neutrogena or Nivea... LOL!]

There's something missing in these murals. Maybe it is the shading that doesn't make them look lifelike. It all seems a little flat. Too bad, it was a nice try. Not your fault, though, Violet.
This is a pretty one. I like the pastel shades.
I never realized there was a season for shipping. But if you live in a land of ice and snow, it makes sense. Does the season start on a specific date or is it a moving target defined by ice melt? Having tugs with names that every one knows is delightful. Shows a real connection among the community. Thank you for the charming images.
