@CaT - the grave plots were smaller than one would have expected. no wasted space, I guess.

The only cemetery I've seen as dense as that are the military ones although this one has far more flowers. I would imagine a very gregarious Italian afterlife.

I like how close together they are. It's very intimate. And each a place for sitting and reflection.

Us with our wide open spaces down here in Australia, find cemeteries like this a bit hard to contend with. They are beautiful, but you could be exhausted and only have done one row of the cemetery!

I do like the colour and 'life' that flowers add to a cemetery, but then, I also like just a little bit of grass around the graves.

I must admit that I often sit on graves when they have concrete 'coffins' on top of them. Sit and talk to the long dead all around me.
