P is for Pier

and Promenade
at least the gulls get to enjoy the pier....
The top picture is from 2009, the middle one is 2010 and the bottom one is 2011. 
There is no change for 2012, though work has finally begun again to get it finished. Five years late. And many millions of dollars over budget.

What a shame that this happens to some projects, - too many of them really. I am glad at least the gulls are happy!

I think the photos are very beautiful, but can't believe it needs to cost so much to build a pier. How could that be? I hope they eventually find a less expensive contractor and manage to finish it. In the mean time, I'm happy for the seagulls. Like you, I love being near the water. It seems a special Privilege :) Thanks for this interesting post!
