at least the gulls get to enjoy the pier....
The top picture is from 2009, the middle one is 2010 and the bottom one is 2011.
There is no change for 2012, though work has finally begun again to get it finished. Five years late. And many millions of dollars over budget.

Some project just go on and on and on. Love the splashing water in the first photo.
Do you think they read the sign? ;)
gulls are not known to be very law abiding ;)
A plethora of gulls on the pier.
What a shame that this happens to some projects, - too many of them really. I am glad at least the gulls are happy!
this is a lovely place. i hope they would finally finish the project so people can enjoy it.

I hope eventually the pier project does get finished!
Lovely pier to promanade!!
those two ps go hand in hand. great post.
Why is that all government jobs seem to go over budget?
It looks so sad and neglected.
Sad that no one can enjoy it yet!
I think the photos are very beautiful, but can't believe it needs to cost so much to build a pier. How could that be? I hope they eventually find a less expensive contractor and manage to finish it. In the mean time, I'm happy for the seagulls. Like you, I love being near the water. It seems a special Privilege :) Thanks for this interesting post!
I love that second shot best!
A lovely pier that is!
