big haul

 vat#3vat#5

Many people have been fascinated by this beer vat crawl. vatsThere is a twitter site with almost1,000 followers even though the site is rarely updated. There are 6 of these monstrous vats that are 8 metres high and 45 metres long. They are making a long arduous journey from the Hamilton Port to the Molson Brewery near Toronto Airport.  As you can see, hydro wires get in the way so they must be lifted and cut off until the convoy is safely through.

Originally planning on a 5 night trip, it is now expected to take 8 nights.

You can read about it with more pictures at Violet Sky and with even more details here

That would be quite a sight to see in person. It must be nerve wracking for the drivers and crew.

Wow! These vats are so huge, they can export beer! I wonder what traffic is like during weekday travel.

I knew I could rely on you to post photos of the big move. I just hope it's completed before Canadians run out of beer.

Ebie: they are only moving at night so traffic is disrupted as little as possible.
