embodies confusion, conflict and controversy.
here we have what is claimed to be the house
Christopher Columbus was born in.
though, no one knows if he was even born in Genoa, or when,
or if his name really was Colon or Colombe.
critics claim this to be one of the
biggest tourist traps in Genoa.

Excellent photo and great post for ABC ~ thanks, namaste, (A Creative Harbor)
There's a great novel about Columbus and the Discoveries, it's called 'Codex 632' and it was written by a Portuguese journalist. If you like the subject I recomend you this book, once it's translated in English.
or whether he discovered America - there's some dispute about that from the Vikings (not to mention the folks already there!)

It looks small, no wonder he wanted to travel across the oceans under large skies. I like the shape.
Great choice, - enjoyed the picture, and perhaps the man who would not move away felt he was adding something for posterity.

Ha, ha, I have seen this too. I didn't believe either he really was born there. Italian people make their own history sometimes. Nice guy there, did you sent him your photo?
