Park Güell was designed by Gaudi as a commission by Eusebi Güell who wanted to create a stylish park for Barcelona aristocracy.
This small house that Gaudi lived in from 1906-1926 has been made into a museum.

Wow - fabulous! I never heard of this house but I love Gaudi's work.
Visited for the first time about three years ago. I agree completely that it is a fascinating place, perched high on a hill. They say Gaudi could watch the progress on his Sagrada Familia church from his windows. You've captured lovely details.

The Gaudi buildings are so great. That man had such an imagination which he realized in his works.
I love this little house! The painted accents remind me of henna body painting, and that balcony, fence and chimney are all delightful! (The chimney especially looks like something from a Dr. Seuss illustration!) I don't know what rock I've been living under, but I've never heard of Gaudi! Off to do an internet search and see what I've been missing...
I've just been reading about Gaudi and looking at a lot of photos of his work, and all I can say is, "WOW!!!" That man had an imagination that knew no bounds! A couple of photos of his buildings looked familiar to me, but most of them I've never seen before. Amazing stuff, thanks for introducing me to his work!

The scrollwork on the building looks akin to a script, a totally unique trim. The balcony is so well styled, cast iron with a great design. Love the hearts too! Such a find, nothing like this anywhere in North America. A fabulous subject!
