along the wall of the buildings at Pier 8, which is an end point of the Waterfront Trail, are a collection of murals designed by various school children in Hamilton. This is a small sampling that are dated 2007 and have held up rather well.

I particularly like the addition of the 'tagging' on the lower right.
Don't you love the size of this fish relative to the buildings on land? The play on the Waterfront Trust's motto of 'connecting you to the water's edge' is also a nice touch.

When it comes to murals I'm always amazed of the talent of the school children. This one is no exception.
Amazing design by the children! I love the fish in that last one and the boat in the top one! Such talent and so clever!
I really like that kids are involved in these kinds of projects, Hopefully this has created an interest that lasts throughout their lives.
These are just delightful. The tile fish add so much to the whole thing as well.
I like all the little fish along the bottom!
The fishies are super cute! Great idea for a mural. :)
the fishes are a big hit.
Those kids did a darn good job and I do like the very big fish. It makes fo a good mural what I can see of it. It's good to get kids involved in these kinds of projects. You hope their appreciation lasts a lifetime. It probably will. xox
It's impressive how sophisticated some of these works are. I bet the participants feel a surge of pride when they see their work still on display at the waterfront. Thanks for sharing and participating in Monday Mural.
Kids develop their talent at an early age. In fact, we have a school dedicated to the arts and children are encouraged to do this kind of painting.
Nice colors and held up well.
Interesting blog. I enjoyed my visit and browsing.
This is grteat. I especially like all the fish at the bottom. Really cool!
Murals painted by children are often so very delightful and thoughtful, too. The fish look like a Stream of Dreams project. I've seen then in several places in BC. It's a wonderful idea that's been a huge success with children.
Fantastic gift to the waterfront, to the kids who did them... They certainly ARE holding up well! I hope that, through the years, they can be touched up when necessary.
Terrific, as always. Been away, so I have to catch up now!
Wonderful captures. You have lead me to a new meme. I photograph every mural I see. Love them. I will have to remember to share a few soon.
Thanks for the visit to my Century Farm.
