A is for art deco

An attractive art deco house near where I live.
It is not the best picture and I kept meaning to go back to get more of this audacious pink house. But I have been sidetracked over the past year... so today, wanting this for my 'A', I walked over.

It was not the best day, being rather overcast and grey.
But then I was shocked to see
just how grey the day was to be.

It does look more elegant and formal
(and it did need painting)
but I miss the pink...

Lovely house indeed!

Artists at our home is one of my entries, come and see. Have a lovely day!

I think I liked it better pink, but maybe that is because of the foliage. No, this color looks too much like cement.

Love the curves. The art deco houses here tend to be painted white, wonder if that is the colour they were built to be, rather than grey.

Yes, they usually are painted white - I think that is why I loved this one for being so pink! There is another one that is white, but I couldn't find it in my archives and was too lazy to go back out in the rain to get a picture.

Nice grey to match the day but I can imagine you were surprised it wasn't pink any longer.

Very grey as the house is, I think I prefer the pink.

The pink is more fun but the grey is quite elegant!

I'll join you with a mural next week on the new Mon meme.

The grey is definitely more elegant.

What an interesting house ~ I love the curved bits, and wonder what rooms are inside that part of the house.
I didn't know Art Deco houses are meant to be white. I agree with Roger that it looks more deco in pink - maybe I've been overly influenced by the look of South Miami Beach! :-)

Such an interesting house...I like it in both colors

Even though I don't like pink that much, it looked very good with the house (better than gray in my humble opinion). I like the rounding of the wall with the many windows!

Pink would be so Miami Beach. The gray, not so much. The gray definitely gives the house a more traditional feel.

You are right ... it does look more formal in the grey. BUT ... I think the unexpected (pink) is more fun to see. Thanks for sharing!
