H is for Hallmark

Purveyors of fine 'get well soon' and 'thinking of you' cards as well as the usual birthday and sympathy, etc.
Sorry, this is not the most original, but I have been battling the flu for 3 weeks now and I couldn't think of an appropriate hellish photo.
This shop in Corning NY is next door to my F is for flower post. I am reliving my trip from last summer.

When I was young, I remember practicing my handwriting so I could write in those fancy 'greeting card' scripts!

Hope you feel healthy soon and beat that hellish flu. Looks like a lovely building, well apart from the generic hallmark sign. Nice to see a tree with leaves on.

I agree with Nora. You need a Hallmark card for flu. Take care.
Excellent post for a suffering person, so thank you for making the effort.

Poor you, you need someone to take care of you. I's come over, but I'm too far away. I'm with you in spirit.

I do hope you feel much better very soon! I hate to be sick! I don't even like feeling just a little badly, so I can empathize! Very appropriate post for the H Day!! I love it! Feel better soon! Sending lots of good thoughts and vitamins your way!!

I can remember many a new hour when I was young and haunted card and gift shops, looking for just the right words.

Sorry you're not feeling well. The photo is very interesting - like the composition and the wonderful domed windows.

Much better looking building rather than the modern day box stores that Hallmark now use. Get well soon!

I'm sorry you've had the flu and hope you're well soon. I think the Hallmark store is a great idea.

sorry to hear you weren't in the pink of health. get well.

i am one of those who grieved the seemingly lost art of sending greeting cards via mail.

I love the brick building, the shape of the windows and the green branches in front of it!
I remember seeing Hallmark cards abroad years before they were available here, so the sight of the logo reminds me of happy travels!

I used to do that too, trace out the letters of the cards. I loved the style of writing of those old 50's and 60's cards.

Hope you are better soon - you have been sick for far too long, we need to get out on another photowalk!

Fun post. (When I was young I was lucky to be able to write well enough to get a "B" in Penmanship!)

We do a couple of art fairs with an artist who was an illustrator for Hallmark until he retired. His watercolors mostly look like greeting cards, which can be okay or not depending upon one's preferences.

Hope you fully recover from the flu soon.
