When I was a kid I thought Bata shoes were quite special.

I hope you went inside and took the tour. Personally, when I was a kid I preferred PF Flyers. I could always run faster with them on. So I thought:)

Glass doors are common, but not those knobs! And I had never heard of Bata shoes.

Attractive door knobs, they are almost like coins.

A very unique door knob. What is Bata means? In the Philippines Bata means a child or a kid. ^_^ Happy Thursday!

Bata is a family name of the founders of the shoe company. It is Czech (not sure of the meaning) and Sonja Bata started the collection that is housed in this museum.

I have traveled with my good friend Ruth (who I've posted about) to hunt for footwear for this museum. She's found quite a lot for them. Through Ruth, Sonja has also bought some of my photos. I would really like to go this museum! And I sure like the brass door knobs.

What a unique find. I need to go look up Bata shoes -- its not familiar to me (maybe they don't walk across the border?) I'd like to see inside as well.

fascinating, and lovely door knobs. We have a Bata shoe factory very close by. I'd always assumed it was an Australian brand! It seems like we're just a small outpost.
