HMSC Fredericton

hmsc fredericton

The upper decks of the HMSC Fredericton under gloomy skies as it visited Hamilton last week. The frigate is on a tour of the Great Lakes as part of a recruitment and to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Navy.

Gotta love the Canadian Navy!! I remember when my brother signed up in Vancouver and the navy put a uniform on him and sent him to Halifax. Never thought about the navy in the great lakes. Good recruiting idea alright!!

Marvellous shot.

The ship certainly matches the sky! That must have been quite a sight to see a warship in the Great Lakes.

Barb: it was certainly a HUGE ship. those flags were flying pretty high (and it was quite windy)

And it was a rare chance to get on a working warship (most recently it was fighting pirates off the Somali coast)
