The FOOD sign is so big, you won't miss it. How's the food? Yummy?

Another reminder fr me of growing up with the CNE in my life. When I was younger almost every display in the Food Building gave away free samples. Some were not free... like Tiny Tom Donuts and Double Bubble were a couple I would always spend what money I had.

Andy: it was almost like an early Hallowe'en without having to dress up. my bags were always full and I always had room for those Tiny Tom Donuts!

Ann: you used to get free samples of new foods (I remember when mac 'n cheese came in a box!) but now it is mostly fast food vendors, though I haven't been there in ages so can't tell you how yummy it is.

So stark, descriptive but colorless. Almost industrial. Fascinating.

I like the modern entrance, and the angle in this picture!
Good choice for this theme!

What an interesting post for the F Day! I'm definitely for Food! This is rather stark, isn't it? Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!

Hello,

Firstly, I feel no Beauty is ordinary! That reflects in all your pictures...

It's funny that there is a building that is just called FOOD. It certainly makes a clear statement. There's no doubt about it.

Great shot - and totally unappetizing building and sign. I wonder what the designer was thinking? the democracy of food? thou shalt not tempt me food?
Interesting...

Interesting - hope the food is wonderful!

I guess it is rather stark. It is definitely Modernist (built in 1954).

Maybe because it gives me fond memories, but I love this building. I also really like the starkness and the simple font of the 'FOOD'.

Interesting reactions from you all. I love that, too!
