Congratulations! You are #2 this week in joining Sunday Bridges. It is interesting that they built the new portion above the old one. The old portion is from the same era as the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge in today's post at «Louis'» blog. The Golden Gate Bridge is also from that era. Your bridge is one year newer.

this is a bit of an optical illusion -they are actually side by side and from the ground it is hard to tell that the newer bridge (the one on the left going into Canada) is actually higher by 20 feet!

Neat shot. I have never crossed into the States (or back into Canada) over this bridge.

Your photo has lovely light and nice long shadows. The bridge looks kind of like a giant erector set. Dontcha think?

This is quite the span! We usually cross into Canada at Thunder Bay.

Two bridges or one duble bridge?
Never mind, your picture is interesting.

Excellent post. I bet everyone was happy when the second bridge was built.

Love the curdled milk skies. MB

I love the angle on this shot. Wonderful. Normally one doesn't see grass under bridges like this. It's beautiful.

yes, this is two bridges.

it is perhaps longer than normal due to having to pass through customs. and the long lines of traffic!

this crosses the St Clair River, but this bit is over land on the Port Huron side.
