In the early 20th Century, tinsmith Honoré Foisey
advertised his trade by decorating the outside of his

Lowertown Ottawa house.
When the house was demolished in 1961,

the façade was saved and later reproduced by
artist Art Price using original and fabricated parts.
This one-of-a-kind façade, installed here in 1973

as public art, has become the artistic focal point of this
courtyard that now bears its name.

What a neat way to save a unique facade. Very ingenious. People should always be this smart. Thanks for showing this.

I've never seen anything like this before. That balcony had my imagination going...

What an intriguing idea to preserve a bit of historical architecture in this manner. Thanks so much for sharing ;--)

That is such a cool work of art!! And almost in my own backyard! (I live in Kanata, the west end of Ottawa)

And there is a nice coffee shop there, too!
