barn quilt #1

a quilt square in Oxford County
This heritage barn was built by James Allan Edgar and John Guthrie Edgar after the turn of the 20thcentury. Owners Marsha Deans Edgar and John Edgar, are descended from local farming families that emigrated from Scotland. This original quilt block represents their strong family ties to rural life. Still a working farm, this barn is now an art studio, performance space and hockey rink.

Barn quilt #1, let's hope that their are more! A quilt block just makes a barn special. Thanks for linking up this week and I hope that you will return again. Tom The Backroads Traveller

Now, that's a nice one. The quilt square is more modern than usually seen. Most are more traditional.

I had never heard of barn quilts before. This one seems so bright and charming. I hope there are more you can eventually show us. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

I really like this quilt square. It's quite different from most I've seen.
