This is really lovely! It doesn't look like it's painted on a flat surface, but seems to "bulge" in a three-dimensional way (thickest around the window, flattening out toward the wall). Is that an optical illusion?
This is such an interesting effect! You were there for Doors Open? I didn't make it to too many places this year, but I would have liked to see inside this cottage.

@laloofah - it does seem to be an optical illusion. I never noticed it until I uploaded the photos!
How funny! I wonder if that was intentional on the part of the artist!
Pretty spring flowers but isn't it interesting that they are mostly wearing autumn colors.
