A truck crosses the old Valley Inn Rd bailey bridge last winter before it was closed to vehicular traffic. The familiar rumbling sound of the boards whenever a car drove over them was a comforting old timey sound to many people.
Indeed, when «Louis» saw this image, and before he read the text, he immediately thought of the sound the boards would make. Very evocative image and a welcome contribution to Sunday Bridges.

Know what you mean.
At least they kept the bridge open for cyclists - but it is not the same, is it?!
I can hear that sound, just looking at this picture. I hope they provided a good alternative route.
i love the sound of trucks over a wood bridge
I guess it got too dangerous to keep doing that, huh? Those boards don't look too solid. I would worry about crossing it in a truck.
I like that sound! Nice perspective...
I can just hear the truck crossing the bridge now...
Very cool composition.
I like that you camouflaged the brown by turning it into black and white! I should have done that. LOL
