bar headed goose

bar headed goose I'm not sure how this Himalayan Goose got to Southern Ontario, but he seems to be alone and flightless and living with the swans on the Avon River in Stratford.

He is a long way from home! I've never seen one quite like him! He's beautiful and I hope he finds a good home wherever! Marvelous capture! Hope your week is going well!

He is being well taken care of, along with the pampered swans (and a few other ducks)

Isn't he lovely? The stripes on his head are just gorgeous.
Thanks for visiting my blog. (I was wearing the TO shirt because I'm a Jays fan.)
And thanks for the picture of the Himalayan Goose. I'd never heard of it before. It's also known as a bar-headed goose, which could lead to its extinction, as very few geese are allowed in bars. (BAD joke.)

What a great goose - I've never heard of them before. He must be quite the star in Stratford.

Maybe somebody imported him?

Probably getting his own back, after Canada Geese seem to have populated the world :-)
Nice picture. Were the wings deliberately clipped?
