The Valley Inn Bridge over Grindstone Creek. This marks the boundary between the cities of Hamilton and Burlington. It was recently closed to vehicles though a plan to tear it down was scrapped and it remains open for cyclists and pedestrians.

As a cyclist, I much prefer the old to the new.

The bridge is a wooden temporary bridge that has become more or less permanent but not safe for vehicular traffic.
This is a popular site for fishing and birding and if you are coming from the south you will have a steep climb down or a long drive around to get down by the residential road.
Far too pretty to tear down...so long as it is safe, that is. It's a very very beautiful scene!
Carolyn: It has been reinforced and as no-one yet weighs as much as a car, I guess it is safe!
I'm so glad the powers-that-be have decided to NOT tear down that bridge! It's very attractive. Besides it's perfect for pedestrians and cyclists.
