Artemus

More of Corning New York...

there is also the Rockwell Museum of Western Art, housed in the former City Hall. Artemus (Art is a must) is the museum's mascot buffalo crashing through the bricks on the second floor.

super moon

I managed to get out to get some shots of the super moon last weekend, but should have gone earlier when the moon wasn't so high. It didn't seem that much bigger to me, but it certainly was very bright.

the day before

View from my balcony, the day before the snow storm that brought a record breaking amount of the wet, white stuff.

winter

Winter has not quite disappeared no matter what the calendar says. With the blowing snow we are experiencing at the moment, you probably couldn't even find the stairs, so I hope the sign is still up.

J is for juggler

At the Dundas Buskerfest last year, I witnessed this jugging act done while balancing atop a pole.

GO under

Tucked underneath the Gardiner Expressway is another option for commuters into the city of Toronto.
This is the western GO train station at Exhibition Place.

And Winter slumbering in the open air,

Wears on his smiling face a dream of Spring!

drive cautiously

It is a bit hard to see this bridge beyond the bend on the unlit private road with no railing save the railway ties...
it is along this road that I drive to make my deliveries (in the dark, mostly).

window seat

Passing a bar ... and trying not to be too shocked at the patrons inside, one of whom seems to have nabbed the best seat in the house!
I'm sure he is friendly (once he gets his drink)

a day is coming

Every year hath its winter
and every year hath its rain -
but a day is always coming
when the birds go north again.

H is for Hallmark

Purveyors of fine 'get well soon' and 'thinking of you' cards as well as the usual birthday and sympathy, etc.
Sorry, this is not the most original, but I have been battling the flu for 3 weeks now and I couldn't think of an appropriate hellish photo.
This shop in Corning NY is next door to my F is for flower post. I am reliving my trip from last summer.

When I was young, I remember practicing my handwriting so I could write in those fancy 'greeting card' scripts!

arch or steps

You can take the steps or cross the bridge into Hendrie Park at the Royal Botanical Gardens.
We are in for a weekend of non-stop rain which will make this slushy mess into a muddy mess.
This may be the last snow covered photo of a bridge....

the tree standeth

There is no storm hath power to blast
The tree God knows;
Through every tempest standeth fast,
And from its first day to its last
Still fairer grows.
