Monday Mural
In honour of the opening of the shipping season,
another mural from Welland featuring tugboat Hector
pulling barges and ships through the canal in the 1920s
painted by Stefan Bell, an Austrian-Canadian artist who has produced
many commercial and residential projects in sizes ranging from murals to greeting cards.

passing by
I sit at my window this morning where the world
like a passer-by stops for a moment
nods to me and goes

B is for BOUNTY
The Bounty charges through the Welland Canal (connecting Lake Ontario to Lake Erie, thus avoiding those treacherous falls in Niagara!) as it continues its tour of the Great Lakes.

Lock #1
Lock #1 at the Welland Canal closes on the Tall Ships as they make their way to Cleveland after a fun-filled weekend in Toronto. The Welland Canal connects Lake Ontario and Lake Erie.
First up is The Sullivan, followed by The Bounty and bringing up the rear is The Appledore.
Another tall ship is waiting off in the distance for its turn.
