Sad isn't it!

Sad to see an iconic place be removed. There's a hotel we pass rather frequently that was just torn down two weeks ago. It could not keep business after a murder occurred there several years ago. Such a shame.

Those huge mechanical beasts add so much tragedy to the sign of what was! Great photo!

Your photo is a reminder of an era that's at it's end.

perhaps a bigger hotel will be built in the area? i like the name, Riviera on the lake.

I liked the name Riviera on the Lake, too - but it was a dive of a motel. instead, a 22 storey condo building is being built. sigh.

I so wish I had taken photos of those motels along The Lakeshore before they were all destroyed. Or at least their signs.

The old has to make way for the new. Hopefully something better will be put in its place.

Time marches on...not always entirely fun to watch that happen.
