Such lovely lines to this grey and white house. I love the simplicity of the bare branches as they reflect in the panes.

I wish you health and happiness as we travel into 2010.

Beautiful reflection shot. I love this little side entry to the house...and the strand of ivy creeping up.

What a charming entrance. This looks like it might be a secondary entrance that is perhaps into a mud room or kitchen area.

Merry Christmas and many blessings in the coming new year.

Foxbar is such a lovely word. I don´t know why.

Julie: yes, it is mostly unadorned, yet elegant

Leia: and the room is just as charming beyond the doorway

Eileen: the reflected wasn't the intention, but I'm glad it came out so nicely

Quasi Serendipita: the wreath is a nice touch

Carol: isn't that creeeping ivy adorable!

Quilly: they reflect what little serenity is left to the property

Marth: thanks

Annie: this is actually a sunroon that wraps around the house!

VioletSky said...

Thomas: sadly this is true and too many people put up fences instead of trees or hedges for privacy

Diane: I was trying to get the date that is etched on the transom, but the reflection is a bonus

Regina: thanks

Therese: thanks (and am looking forward to the Games!)

VioletSky said...

Irene: thanks

Cieldequimper: thank you, this house was on a holiday open house tour

Wenn: thanks

Helena: it has been lovingly restored and is gorgeous inside too!

VioletSky said...

Dimple: old houses do have character and personality to them

Storyteller: thanks, they might not have looked so good had they not been bare

James: the people who restored this house could not sell it, so they continued restoring and decided to live in it themselves

Chrome3d: apparently the name comes from the original owner's family home in Scotland.
