Wonderful photos of the churches and the reflections.
Those are so striking with the jewel-tone colors set against the gilt. They look like illuminated manuscripts. It's particularly unusual to see an image of St. Nicolas, but timely! His feast day is coming right up on December 6! :-) Thank you so much for these.

Whenever I travel, even if it's just up the road, I look for churches to visit. The various Catholic traditions give us some of the most spectacular art to God's glory. You have shared some beautiful ones here. More. More, please.
Are they stained windows? The two churches, were they built at the same era?

Annie: so do I. I love their architectural detail. there is also a stunning Gurdwara (Sikh Temple) not far that I need to photograph.
Ann: I had trouble finding information. I think the Serbian one was built around 1972.

How interesting that the churches are so close together. I guess their beliefs must be significantly different, which I never would have guessed. Nice photos showing two versions of St. Nicholas.
Gorgeous artwork with beautiful golden color. I like the arched frames of the mosaics too.
storyteller: thanks, I must try again with a different light and see what happens.
Stine: neither one showed a history of their church building on any websites I found, and I am not at all familiar with them. but it looks to me like they were done by the same craftsmen.
