In Ontario, if you want to buy liquor, you must make your way to a government run Liquor Control Board Of Ontario, or LCBO, store. You can buy wines at individual wineries, but if you want wines and spirits of the world, this is where you shop. This local LCBO in downtown Burlington is housed in what has variously been used as a fire hall, a post office and a jail.

When we travel, I find it interesting the different regulations as to where you can buy alcohol. I was amazed to see that in New Hamshire the state liquor stores are a the service plazas on the interstate.
It is interesting how different states, countries have such different regulations about buying alcohol, as Martha has written. Great photos and an interesting post!
Enjoy your week!

It is so interesting to know that there are different rules I suppose all over the world about selling alcohol. I like your pictures.
Pretty. Here in Hawaii one can buy pretty much anything one wants in the grocery store. It blows my mind. I think making a special trip for the alcohol should be required.
