I am amazed at the sacrifices that people made during WWII. Churchill had it right... "Never was so much owed by so many to so few."

What a wonderful mural! Living in a military town, I am always aware of the sacrifices of these brave men and women. Beautiful reminder today!

It is nice they put together the mural and a statue. Makes it a thoughtful commemorative place.

That statue has remarkably life-like features. Over here, our soldier-statues are given god-like marble features. I guess so that we think of the sacrifice in terms of glory rather than in terms of loss. The mural tries to cover it all, doesn't it.

That;s a very moving mural! It touches my heart...and fills me with fear.

Lots to see here. I love it when murals tell some kind of story. It's much easier to understand or care about history when you see it on something like this memorial site. It makes it more real somehow.

I love the fact that there is a religious symbol at the center of this memorial. Christians believe the cross is for all; I hope there has not been a protest against this mural. There certainly could have been one here in the States.
