For effect, I like the incandescent bulb, but if I wanted to do prep work (If it's over a table) or something, I want the fluorescent bulb.
They are getting better and better all the time with changing the effect of the bulbs, so I bet within five years, we'll have softer light.
regardless, I love the pictures, especially the top ones. I don't get it. How do you photographers even THINK of going, Oh, I think I'll take a picture of lamps. What is the top one?
I hope you have a wonderful week, VioletSky. I'm gonna be painting, not writing pretty soon. And writing music. What would we do without the love of words, color, light, shadow, and music? Dull, dull, dull.
I like the incandescent bulb the most because it has the softer and warmer light. It makes it look cozier. The white light has a prettiness about it too and would make everything look a lot clearer, so I guess that would have its advantages too. I suppose it would depend on what you needed the light for. The lampshade is pretty. Does it belong to you?

Thanks, Jeannette
The top picture is 'hypnotic effect' from Picnik - it is of the same lightshade.

Beautiful shots!
I have Lite Brite for mellow yellow. Your visit will be so much appreciated!
Light can change the look of things so effectively. I think I like the second "glow" better, but both are nice. Have a terrific week. Mickie :)
nice photos; the fleuro globe does though show up the design on the lamp more. I guess that's my favorite.
i love the kaleidoscope effect. i love the mellow light of incandescent light when i'm relaxing. but when i'm active, i'd go for fluorescent light.
lovely shots! :)
A very interesting experiment! I think I tend to love the first one with all the variegated light patterns!
Nice photos, I prefer the flourescent bulb when doing something.
I like all. ^_^ Happy Monday!

I would probably go for the fluorescent - seems to be cleaner!
I love the Picnik effect. I really need to check that sight out some time soon,
