squeeze

these signs have been feeling the squeeze as they slowly disappear from our streets and highways to be replaced by the diagram of a right lane ending.

Oh but I love this one soooo much better than the diagram. Seriously, I understand it better!

You are so observant! Now that I read it about it here, I'm sure you are correct!

This is the coolest sign....such a shame they are being replaced with the dull land ending ones. This is definitely a blue ribbon sign. genie

I never noticed but you are are right about the sign replacement. By the way... you think your are showing your age if you can remember The Beachcombers. What about me. I can remember Adventures in Rainbow Country.

That sign doesn't make any sense to me at all. I'm glad it's being replaced. In case I ever have to drive in Canada...

I have not seen like this sign here in my area. What is this mean?

It simply means that on a road with 2 or more lanes, the right hand lane will disappear ahead and you will need to 'squeeze' or 'merge' onto the left hand lane. you will see that the road ahead narrows.

sometimes the pictures here show the wrong lane closing! I'd rather it say what yours does.

Yes, but shouldn't the right side of the sign be slanted?

Too funny... love it! I agree these type of signs are disappearing fast... everything is being replaced with the international signage one sees everywhere these days...
