The sign from the old marquee of the Revue Cinema on Roncesvalles. The theatre is celebrating 100 years though this art deco sign was added later. While the fate of this much loved cinema was still up in the air, a heavy snow storm caused the marquee to crash down in 2007, but the lettered sign was saved. One is on display here along with the original seats.
The theatre has been completely refurbished by the community (mostly volunteers!)
and here is how the cinema looks today.

T is for time and a tree
all good parks should have a clock to keep track of time (especially when you have to pay for parking)
and this is a great tilting tree to add interest to those sky shots.
the left version was taken this afternoon, while the one on the right is a winter shot.
today, the park was busy with people catching some cooling breezes in the 30 degree weather.

Monday Mural
One of the smaller murals in Islington celebrating the heritage of Etobicoke in outdoor art.
Designed and painted by John Kuna in 2007, it was painted in the style reminiscent of old coloured postcards and turn of the century paintings.
The plaque beside the mural explains that from 1917 to 1931 the old Guelph Radial Line ran behind this site (where the mural is painted). Forerunners of today's electric streetcars, radial trains were so named because they 'radiated' from the city centre outwards to neighbouring towns and villages.
(there is also a hint of the murals on yesterday's bridge leading into Islington)

Table Rock
The bridge over the Niagara Parkway to Table Rock and fun attractions and shopping.
In the distance you can see the Rainbow Bridge over the Niagara River to New York and cheap shopping.

Q is for QEW
The Queen Elizabeth Way is a highway that runs from the western boundary of Toronto to Niagara and ends at the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie (the bridge to USA)
The road runs in a east-west direction from Toronto to the centre of Burlington, then has a sudden left turn towards Niagara.
I have been intrigued by the changes in the signage. They were always blue on yellow with the trailblazers (the ones that say 'to') being yellow on blue. However, now it seems some are white on blue. For obvious reasons, I could not get a photo of the blue on yellow.
